There are pet business events taking place all over the UK this year ranging from conferences focusing on mindset and managing clients to trade shows.

If you’re looking for innovative ideas you can implement in your business, attending events with people in real life is key – it’s made a huge change for me.

February 9-10 Sandown and September 27-28 Telford

Trade show for pet retailers, wholesalers and garden centres with 200 exhibitors and 4,000 visitors last year.

There’s a new product showcase section, plus seminars with industry experts and grooming demonstrations.

Petcare Innovation Summit

February 27-28, Novotel London West, W68DR

Bringing emerging pet brands together with strategic players and financial buyers, the Innovation Summit explores trends in the industry to keep you ahead of the competition.

There’s presentations from industry leaders and disruptive new companies like Butternut Box plus networking.

The Best in Show is a chance for pet brands to showcase their products in front of industry leaders, multinationals, retailers and investors and buyers.

There’s also a Meeting Mojo platform where each guest can arrange up to 12 meetings with people who can help you grow your business.

Pet Industry Federation Pet Index

April 26-27, Marshall Arena, Milton Keynes

This is a two day trade show for the pet industry with seminars and workshops for pet professionals in the education centre covering retail, grooming, service industry and animal wellness.

Brands can exhibit with stands in the main hall and there’s a New Business Zone where petpreneurs can showcase their businesses.

It’s also home of the British Dog Grooming Championships and the Pet Industry Awards and there will be a gala dinner on the Sunday at the Double Tree by Hilton Hotel, Milton Keynes.

Impact 2020

May 1-3, Grand Hotel, Sunderland

Three day marketing event with pet business coach Dominic Hodgson on how to build a profitable and sustainable pet business.

Sessions will include workshops on how to write a book with Vicky Fraser, creating video with Alex Wardle and publicity with me!

Amy Smith, founder of the Sound Proof Puppy App is the headline speaker and Dominic is hosting a Super Sunday coaching day.

Destination Dogs

June 13-15, Whitcombe Estate, Dorset

Created for dog trainers, pet professionals and dog owners, this three day event is hosted by Jordan Eley with classes and workshops over three days.

Speakers include Jo-Rosie Haffenden, Nando Brown, Dean Nicholas, Kamal Fernandez, Adam Delderfield and Craig Ogilivie and it’s tickets only.

Behaviour Buzz with Dr Susan Friedman

June 21-22, Harlow Town Football Club, Essex

This is a two day series of workshops with Dr Susan Friedman, Professor Emeritus in the Department of Psychology at Utah State University.

Sessions will cover topics including positive reinforcement and how to communicate effectively with owners as well as their pets.
