Learn how to Get Your Pet Business in the Press in five days

Would you love to learn how to get press coverage for your pet business in five days?

If the answer is yes then I’m so excited to invite you to my free five day challenge to help you do exactly that.

The Get Your Pet Business in the Press challenge is taking place on Monday 10th January to Friday January 14th 2022.

Inside you’ll learn everything you need to get your pet product or service in the media, ranging from local titles to huge pet magazines.

In this podcast episode I’m sharing all you need to know about the challenge and what you can expect to achieve from taking part.

You can listen in on the player link below or carry on reading as a blog post.

Is it possible to learn how to get my pet business in the press in just a week?

Yes it absolutely is.

The good news is that you don’t need to hire a fancy PR company to get in the media.

You can learn to do it yourself and in the challenge I will show you the steps to follow.

By the end of the challenge, you’ll have a story idea, a pitch, contacts to approach and the confidence to hit ‘send’ on the e mail.

What is the focus of the Get Your Pet Business in the Press challenge?

It’s to get media coverage for your pet business, so features and mentions in mainstream media.

This is newspapers, magazines, news websites, radio, TV and industry titles.

People who have taken part in the challenge have featured in titles like the Telegraph, Daily Mail, House Beautiful, Woman and Home, Your Dog, Pet Gazette and many more.

What’s the benefit of getting in the press?

Being featured in the media means you reach thousands or even millions of people in one go.

It doesn’t take hours or days every month. All you need to do is create an idea and send it off.

Let’s compare the difference between the other ways we promote our businesses.

If you have 1000 followers on your Facebook page and share a post, only one per cent will see it, so ten people.

If you go and hand out leaflets outside your local pet shop, you could hand out hundreds in a day, which is brilliant, you’ve got a really targeted bunch of people seeing your offer.

If you’re in the local paper and it sells 40,000 copies and has 60,000 visits to the website each week, that’s a huge leap in people seeing you.

And if you’re in a national newspaper like the Daily Mail, like dog walker Meera Jethwa was, and you can read her story here, you reach 40 million people worldwide.

How can this help my business?

Being featured in the media can help you in the following ways.

  • You reach a much larger audience – as demonstrated above.
  • You build trust in your brand –  not everyone gets in the paper, or on the radio or TV.
  • Your visibility skyrockets.
  • You increase your authority – being asked to share your knowledge in the media can position you as the expert in your field.
  • The publicity drives people to your website or social media so there’s the potential to make more sales.
  • Your service becomes more exclusive. Pet businesses who have had lots of PR are able to raise their prices, build waitlists and attract customers who value what they do.

What do I need to do to join in?

If you’d like to take part, fill in the form here with your name and e mail address and you will be sent an e mail with instructions on how to join.

You can send a request to join the private, pop up Facebook group and this will open on Friday January 7th.

The challenge will start on Monday January 10th 2022.

What kind of results can I expect?

If you’re up for coming along and doing the work, it’s highly likely you will join the hundreds of pet professionals who’ve been in the media thanks to this challenge.

Here are some examples from the April challenge:

Dog walker Jesse Graves appeared in two local papers in Norfolk, the Barking Bugle blog and on BBC Radio Norfolk.

Read her story here.

Liza Edwards who runs Just For Whippets boarding appeared in two local papers.

Dog walker Merra Jethwa used what she learned to appear in the Daily Mail.

Dog groomer Gina Grandfield appeared on Heart Radio, and the Canine Copywriter Rikki Sullivan featured in the Telegraph.

What does taking part in the challenge involve?

There will be five days of training in the Facebook group.

Each morning at 7am there will be a video explaining the task for that day, and the idea is that each task takes you a step closer to getting press coverage.

Each evening at 6pm there’s a live where I talk about the task and you have the chance to ask questions.

So do you fancy joining in?

All you need to do is put your e mail address in the form below or click here and I’ll look forward to seeing you on the challenge!

Any questions, message me by clicking here, or on social media @rachelspenceruk on all platforms.
