Yes it absolutely is.
The good news is that you don’t need to hire a fancy PR company to get in the media.
You can learn to do it yourself and in the challenge I will show you the steps to follow.
By the end of the challenge, you’ll have a story idea, a pitch, contacts to approach and the confidence to hit ‘send’ on the e mail.
What is the focus of the Get Your Pet Business in the Press challenge?
It’s to get media coverage for your pet business, so features and mentions in mainstream media.
This is newspapers, magazines, news websites, radio, TV and industry titles.
People who have taken part in the challenge have featured in titles like the Telegraph, Daily Mail, House Beautiful, Woman and Home, Your Dog, Pet Gazette and many more.
What’s the benefit of getting in the press?
Being featured in the media means you reach thousands or even millions of people in one go.
It doesn’t take hours or days every month. All you need to do is create an idea and send it off.
Let’s compare the difference between the other ways we promote our businesses.
If you have 1000 followers on your Facebook page and share a post, only one per cent will see it, so ten people.
If you go and hand out leaflets outside your local pet shop, you could hand out hundreds in a day, which is brilliant, you’ve got a really targeted bunch of people seeing your offer.
If you’re in the local paper and it sells 40,000 copies and has 60,000 visits to the website each week, that’s a huge leap in people seeing you.
And if you’re in a national newspaper like the Daily Mail, like dog walker Meera Jethwa was, and you can read her story here, you reach 40 million people worldwide.

You can send a request to join the private, pop up Facebook group and this will open on Friday January 7th.
The challenge will start on Monday January 10th 2022.

What does taking part in the challenge involve?
There will be five days of training in the Facebook group.
Each morning at 7am there will be a video explaining the task for that day, and the idea is that each task takes you a step closer to getting press coverage.
Each evening at 6pm there’s a live where I talk about the task and you have the chance to ask questions.
