What is The Planner Club and should you join?

Spread the love:

Running a pet business is full-on, and when it comes to planning, it can feel like yet another thing on your never-ending to-do list.

When you run a business you have goals and dreams and things you want to do to keep moving forward, and planning is part of all these things.

I started working with Pet Business owners in 2018, after writing a book, Publicity Tips for Pet Businesses, and planning was part of the support I provided in helping them raise their profiles.

Over the years I saw the stumbling blocks people encountered, so trained as a coach so I’d have the skills and understanding as to why this happened and the tools and strategies to help clients navigate them.

It’s also why I created The Pet Business Content Planner, and The Planner Club, for pet professionals who want to plan then do the work.

In this blog post I’m explaining what The Planner Club is, how it works and the kind of things people focus on inside of it, so you can decide whether it’s right for you.

What is The Planner Club

The Planner Club is built around one idea: plan then do.

I speak to so many pet business owners with brilliant ideas and a real vision for where they want to go, and what I see, again and again, is that the sticking point is never the idea. It’s the implementation.

They don’t make the time to do the work.

They get overwhelmed by the size of the task and give up before they’ve properly started.

They don’t have support when things get hard.

They set timescales that were never realistic in the first place.

And they don’t have anyone holding them accountable for the things they said they’d do, so, quietly, they just don’t.

The Planner Club is built to overcome every one of those.

How it works

On the first Monday of each month, there’s a Q&A call at 9am UK time. This is where you get your questions answered and feel supported by me and the other members.

On the final Monday, there’s a planning call, 60 minutes, followed straight after by a co-working morning.

The idea is that you plan, then do, in the same session.

Every quarter, there’s a dedicated 90 minute planning session (times to be confirmed shortly).

And once a year, there’s a full day online planning event, this year on 9th November, dedicated entirely to planning 2027.

If you join and pay in full as an annual member, your copy of the planner is included.

You also have access to all the resources in my Pets Get Visible membership, covering pitching to the press, working with influencers, blogging, newsletters, applying for awards and lots more.

There’s also a friendly Facebook community where you can ask questions, find people to collaborate with and connect with other business owners.

Who The Planner Club is for

The Planner Club is for you if you want more structure in your marketing, if you crave accountability to get your content out consistently, and if you’d value being part of a small, focused group with protected time to plan and create.

It’s for you if you want to go into the year ahead feeling calm, confident and in control, rather than constantly playing catch-up.

It’s probably not for you if you prefer to work alone, or if you’re after templates and copy-and-paste posts.

This isn’t that. It’s support to articulate the impact you make for your customers in a way that feels right for you.

How The Planner Club makes a difference

It’s not about having more ideas, I think if anything, we need less ideas.

What makes a difference for members is following through with the ones they already have.

For example, Behaviourist Jules Ballard set herself the goal of writing a book, Holistic Help for your Anxious Dog, when she joined in November 2025.

That book is out on Amazon now, helping dogs and their families, and Jules turned up at every call and shared how she was getting on with it.

Saying it out loud meant she made herself accountable, and it is amazing to see her book out there, you can buy a copy here.

You already know what you should be doing.

What moves the needle is having protected time each month to sit down and do it, alongside people who understand what running a business involves, who are willing you do success and who are doing the same.

How much does The Planner Club cost?

Annual membership is £300 and includes your copy of the planner. Monthly is £30. Quarterly is £90.

If you join, you’re signing up to be part of it for a year, until September 2027, because I want to build a community of people invested in being part of it.

What is the Pet Business Content Planner?

The Pet Business Content Planner is a physical, hardback A5 planner for pet business owners, bringing together content prompts, awareness days, goal setting, financial tracking and coaching exercises in one place.

Inside you’ll find a full year of pet industry awareness days, quarterly planning pages, and the Words for When section.

This is twelve guided coaching exercises built on my ILM Level 5 and Level 7 accreditations and this year’s Emotions Coaching Practitioner training.

One planner user described it as, ‘the supportive friend you need when it gets tough and you have doubts.’

It’s not a template, it’s a tool to help you think clearly about your own business and get your ideas down on paper.

Final thoughts

If you’d just like the planner, you can buy one for £30. But if you want the planner and the support to use it, come and join The Planner Club.

The first Q&A call is Monday 7th September at 9am UK time.
